Marcelle Blaker grew up in Southern California, for most of her life. Her family moved around a lot throughout her childhood.  At an early age she was a self-taught artist, taking solace in creating to express herself. Her parents recognized her natural ability and sought private training for her over the next two years. At the age of 8, she was winning blue ribbons in her local art show.

Striving to perfect her craft, she continued to study through her high school art classes and other creative outlets, while taking small art jobs through her school. Currently, she takes art instruction from time to time and is involved with the SFVAC in Los Angeles. Her favorite medium is acrylic painting, but also enjoys pointillism, watercolor and sketching in dark pencil. Her inspiration often comes from nature, asian-inspired art and '40's and 50's vintage pin-up era.
